137 – What legacy do you want to leave?

Hey Mama, this is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Your daily December reminder to take some time for yourself today, even if it is just 10 to 20 seconds, take a moment just to breathe. And Mama’s daily dose is… what legacy do you want to leave? Let’s get moving before we get interrupted.

Most people, especially parents, want to leave some kind of legacy for their kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and so on. I mean, you can leave money, you can leave properties, you can leave stories, recipes, whatever it is that you want to leave, to keep going through the generations. But what we can also leave for our children is our mindset, and our beliefs, which can be effective or ineffective. There may be some beliefs or mindset that was passed down to you from generations that you don’t agree with, or you don’t want to continue to pass on to your kids. So you can make that decision to stop that legacy and create a new legacy that will go on through generations. So what is it that you want to leave your children and your grandchildren and your great grandchildren? We’re all going to leave this earth at some point. So take some stock now and think about what you really want to leave in your legacy.

Mama I know it can sound a little morbid thinking about death and leaving this earth at some point, but really, it’s going to happen and what’s going to be left behind is your legacy. So what is it that you want to leave behind? And be sure to tune in tomorrow because we are talking about your midlife crisis and why it may not actually be a crisis and this sudden thing that comes off. So be sure to take a listen and have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
