Hey mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Mama’s Daily Dose is… the one thing moms want for their kids. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted.
More than success, fame, smarts, genius, all the cars, all the money, all that stuff. Mamas want their kids to be happy. You want to be happy, and you want your kids to be happy. But as we talked about yesterday, happy is totally different for everyone else. So how do you find out specifically, what is going to make your kid happy? How do you set your kid up to be happy now and happy later on in life? You know, it’s not always in the moment, like, in the moment, I would just give my kids pizza, ice cream and let them watch Blippi all day and that would make them happy. Is that going to make them happy in the long term? No. Your kids learn from you from what you do, from what you show them. So if you want your kids to be happy, you need to be happy. You need to set that example for them and show them how to do that.
Mama, your action today is to make a list of all the things that bring you joy and make you happy. What are all the tiny little things that make you happy. I want you to make a list and make it as long as you can, of all the things that bring you joy. And there’s a little continuation of this tomorrow. I know I kind of left it hanging a bit. But be sure to listen in tomorrow for quote Thursday and it’ll kind of tie it all in there. And if you’re feeling a little stuck trying to figure out the list of all the things that make you happy, head on over to allyoumama.com and take the free quiz, “I’m a Mom, What The F Do I Want Now?” And start thinking about those things that bring you joy that are going to make you happy because that is going to lead to what you want to do. And have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
