168 – Your Breakdown

Hey, Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short, actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of This week, we have been chatting about talking about help, getting help in all areas of your life, physical, emotional, mentally, we all go through the ups and downs of life, that is the cycle of life, we can’t enjoy the ups without having the downs. And sometimes those downs look like a breakdown. But what if we didn’t view it as a breakdown? What if it really is growth, and Mama’s daily dose is… your breakdown is growth. Let’s get moving before we get interrupted. 

Your reality and a lot of life in general is how you view it, we’re all going to go through these downtimes in life and these break downs. I consider one of my major breakdowns in life of when I had postpartum anxiety back in 2020. And during the time, it was really crappy. It was a very low point in my life. And I did not like the person that I was, I did not like the mom that I was, I just really didn’t like my everyday life. But coming out of that time, was the biggest growth period of my life. Last year in 2021, I made the most changes, I learned the most about myself. And that would not have happened without that quote, unquote, breakdown coming before it. Emotional stress brings about times for growth. And it’s all in how you look at it. Yes, those downtimes when you’re in it, it’s like you’re in it. But reminding yourself that hey, there is light on the other side and coming from this is going to be such a large opportunity for growth. 

Mama, your action today is to think about a breakdown or a lower time in your life. And what came out of it? What growth did you get after that event or after those feelings? All experiences in life happened TO us for a reason, but it is up to you to extract that reason and that growth.
