167 – Only 25% of people seek help for emotional difficulties

Hey mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Mama, one of the most emotional things we can go through, is becoming a mother. And being a mother, it is really just an emotional roller coaster, and Mama’s daily dose is… Only about 25% of people seek help for their emotional difficulty. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted

It is cool to ask for help. That was the Monday MamAffirmation yesterday. And it is cool to ask for help in all areas of your life, especially any emotional difficulties that you are going through. Only 25% of people seek help for their emotional difficulties. And this could be held in a therapist, a friend, a stranger, or your loved ones, your partner, only 25% of people seek help. That means 75% of people are sitting there stirring in their own emotional difficulties. And really just numbing the pain. They’re finding ways to numb it through scrolling on social media, drinking, shopping, gambling, whatever is their distraction away from the emotional difficulties that they’re having. And just know, it’s cool to have emotional difficulties, everyone’s going to have emotional difficulties. You know, you see it in your kids every day. And they express that emotional difficulty to you, which sometimes sucks, but they express that emotional difficulty and what happens they get over it, they move on to the next thing, the only way to get through that emotional difficulty is to express it. So find some way to get support for those emotional difficulties that you are going through.

Mama once again, it is cool to ask for help. Your action today is to find someone to express your emotional difficulties to once you release it, and talk about it doesn’t seem quite as bad and you’re able to start that healing journey. So whether it’s a therapist, a friend, your partner, a stranger, whatever, find someone that you can express those emotional difficulties to. And I just want to thank you so much for tuning in and taking this time for you and becoming a better you not only for yourself, but your kids, too. And if you haven’t already, please leave a rating and review. This is what really helps us to reach more mamas and just overall make the world a better, more confident place. And have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
