162 – REMIX: Most important thing to teach kids

Hey Mama, this is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q, Barrett of allyoumama.com. We all learn new things, we get more information. And sometimes our minds change. And that’s cool, you can change your mind. And that brings me to a little remix on a past episode. And I’ll probably be doing these quite often that the more information I get, maybe something I said before, I don’t necessarily agree with because I have that new information, some new experiences. And in Episode 62, I said the most important thing I want to teach my kids is empathy. And I want to change that… Mama’s Daily Dose is… the most important thing to teach my kids is confidence. Well, let’s get moving. Before we get interrupted.

You can change your mind, it’s cool, you got some more information, you have some more experience under your belt, and you can change your mind. And that’s what I’m doing right now. I think it is super important to teach my children empathy, so that they can feel for others, they can help others. But before that, I want them to be confident. Confidence allows you to have that belief in yourself and your abilities, to feel proud of what you’ve done, what you’ve accomplished, and to push for more. In addition, it helps you to set boundaries with other people to you respect yourself, enough to have that confidence, to set boundaries, to keep yourself where you want to be in that mind space in that physical space that you want to be you can set those boundaries with other people. So I want my children first and foremost, to know and believe in themselves. And when they can exude that confidence to others, they can also have that empathy and others. So I’m changing it. The top thing I want to teach my kids is confidence. I want them to know that they can go out there in the world and achieve the things that they want to achieve. They are confident enough in themselves in their abilities to get through those hard points and a push through to get to where they want to be because I mean, we all know life is not easy. Life is hard. And you have to have that confidence to push through to get to where you want to be.

Mama, your action today is to show some kind of confidence to your kids. Because we all know that what we do, our children do, no matter how much we say, Do what I say not what I do. So show your kids some confidence so they know what confidence looks like. And they can emulate that too. And speaking of confidence, we are starting the Confident Mama Mindset this evening, Tuesday, January 18. It is a six week course to get you into that Confident Mama Mindset to achieve your goals and inspire your kids to be confident too! Check it out at allyoumama.com We start tonight. I’ll see you there and have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
